Regarding your comment: Yes, the family is from outside of the Stuggart area, about 44 km away in Welzheim. We have the church records back to 1577. We visited a 2nd cousin 2 summers ago but he had moved to Munich.
Interestingly, we have just made the connection with several other American Haegeles of a shared great, great grandfather. So now we know we are related over here too from Pennsylvania to Washington to Texas and to Florida!
I often post about Haegles bakey which was started in the 1930s by August Haegele who immigrated in the 1920s from Welzheim area. His father, Ludwig, operated some sort of small hotel there. The bakery is now run by one of August's grandchildren.
